Mass cultural activity

Mass cultural activity of «SPb HN» is realized in cooperation with national cultural communities (NCC), uniting a significant part of a multinational society of St.-Petersburg, and also with various social groups - youth, teenagers, children, veterans, etc.

The purpose of this work is:

  • Distribution of ideals of a civil society, social unity and a generality, patriotism, friendship and respect in a polycultural and multinational society of St.-Petersburg, education of tolerant consciousness in all age groups of the population to various public groups of city;
  • Formation of interest and the valid attitude of general public to memorable historical dates, language, culture and art of Russian people and cultural values of inhabitants of other nationalities living in city;
  • Assistance to preservation and development of national cultural traditions, various kinds, genres and forms of national arts;
  • Rendering assistance in maintenance of participation of representatives of Russian culture of abroad in exhibitions and other cultural actions spent in St.-Petersburg.

In practice, mass cultural work of "SPb HN" is connected to organization and carrying out of different events in: concert halls, libraries, philarmonic societies, showrooms, theatres, the museums, known places of leisure of country territories, and also halls and drawing rooms of "SPb HN".

Cultural and methodical activity

Cultural and methodical work of «SPb HN » is connected to the interaction with heads NCC in Petersburg, heads of national creative collectives NCC and cultural organizations (including youth clubs and the centers), representatives of regional administrations of sphere of formation, teachers, tutors, methodologists, psychologists of educational schools and professional establishments of city, youth of SPb.

Actions on a regular basis, held by « St.-Petersburg House of nationalities » are:

  • Methodical seminars for heads and active workers NCC;
  • Press club;
  • Actions, devoted to memorials; round tables; thematic evenings. Actions, devoted to preservation of a cultural national heritage; presentations of the international projects and programs; seminars and conferences concerning interethnic attitudes, education of tolerance; exhibitions of national artists, crafts, suits, etc.
  • Thematic actions specially intended for children and youth: the master-classes on national techniques of needleworks and crafts; lessons of tolerance for children and Days of knowledge; exit youth drawing rooms with discussion of the problem questions, concerning interethnic attitudes;
  • Development of the mechanism of interaction with the compatriots living abroad, and the organizations created by them outside the Russian Federation, activization of their role in expansion of cooperation of St.-Petersburg with the countries of their residing;
  • Analytical and methodical activity, informational maintenance of the « t.-Petersburg House of nationalities » regarding work with the compatriots living abroad,
  • Maintenance of scientifically-methodical support of actions « Programs of realization of a state policy of the Russian Federation concerning compatriots abroad on 2008 - 2010 ».

Actions of a cultural-methodical direction, influencing separate social groups (professional, national, age) promote promotion of idea of tolerance in a multicultural and multinational Petersburg society, promote formation of the positive attitude to a language and cultural variety, promote cooperation between NCC, the state and public structures.


Support of the actions promoting interethnic interaction, preservation of national cultures and national amateur creativity

  • Development of cooperation with NCCs, the state authorities, public organizations;
  • Assistance in promotion of projects and actions initiated by NCCs, activization of their participance in Petersburg public life;
  • Rendering assistance in work and development of NCCs in such spheres, as cultural, educational, information;
  • Assistance in preservation of national cultural traditions, crafts, arts, languages, and also in maintenance of communications NCC with the historical native land.

The role of « SPb HN » consists in rendering the qualified advisory, methodical and organizational help, and also in information support of spent actions.

Formats of actions are various: national holidays, festivals, thematic meetings, conferences, exhibitions, concerts, the master-classes, assemblies of actives and members of NCCs.


Information work

  • Informing heads of NCCs about actions, organized by city government or « SPb HN ». Offering materials of the periodicals reflecting questions of ethnosubjects to heads and active workers of NCCs with; collecting of specialized editions (newspapers and magazines) of the ethnic subjects, published by NCCs and helping in their distribution among national-cultural associations and other partners operating in ethnosphere and sphere of interethnic attitudes;
  • Development of press releases, circulars, and other forms of the information notification (posters, posters, programs, invitation cards, etc.);
  • Organization of press-conferences and meetings for representatives of mass-media of SPb, including within the limits of work of a press club;
  • Organization of presentations and exhibitions of thematic information sources - books, brochures, editions, booklets, etc.;
  • Formation and actualization of a database about the national-cultural associations operating in SPb;
  • Creation and information support of a databank on Russian abroad;
  • Formation of specialized mini-library and a photoarchive;
  • Supplying with information of actions within the limits of realization of the Program of realization of a state policy of the Russian Federation concerning compatriots abroad on 2008 - 2010 »;
