2nd St. Petersburg Forum of young compatriots living abroad and workers of foreign Russian-language mass media
Within the framework of the St. Petersburg Program on the Implementation of State Policy concerning the Russian Compatriots Living Abroad for 2008-2010, on May 24-27 St.Petersburg hosted the III International Forum of young compatriots who live abroad and workers of foreign Russian-language mass media.
The St. Petersburg Foreign Relations Committee initiated the forum. The forum was supported by the Government of St. Petersburg, Department for Relations with Compatriots Living Abroad and parter organizations, such as РЕСТЕК ® EVENTS, Rost - Eko and the St. Petersburg State Committee St. Petersburg House of Nationalities.
83 compatriots from 33 countries took part in the forum.
The program included:

Ceremonial opening of the Youth Forum and Media Forum; speeches of guests of honour; welcome speeches from forum guests; both forums working sessions (lectures and discussions by participants); Youth Forum Seminar "Abroad organizations of Russian compatriots: why doesn't quantity turn out into quality?", speech and discussion of participants of the Media forum "Actual problems of Russian-language mass media abroad"; later that evening forum guests visited the Piscarev Memorial Cemetery and laid flowers.

Youth Forum and Media Forum working sessions (lectures and discussions by participants); Seminar "Image of St. Petersburg through eyes of compatriots. How do you see it?" (Youth Forum), visit to the St. Petersburg Vodokanal (Media Forum). Both forums participants visited the St. Petersburg State University and the St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin. Press-tour (Media Forum participants visited places of interest from scientific, innovation and investment point of view).

Youth Forum and Media Forum working sessions (lectures and discussions by participants); training "Psychology of leadership and effective communications. Psychology of success" (Youth Forum); participants met with St. Petersburg outstanding cultural workers. Later that evening there was a closing ceremony (press conference of the Chairman of the St. Petersburg foreign relations committee A.V. Prokhorenko).
