Sporting and cultural festival We Are Together took place on 30th of May in St.Petersburg. It is held every year by the St. Petersburg House of Nationalities together with national and cultural city associations within the framework of the project with the same name - the St. Petersburg House of Nationalities.
Within the framework of a Holiday program there took place:
Final mini-football championship for 2010 Governor's Cup between teams of national and cultural associations of St. Petersburg. 16 teams took part in the competition: Buryat national and cultural autonomy "Geser", Ukrainian national and cultural association of St. Petersburg, Jewish society of aesthetics and physical culture "Makkabe", Kirovskoye association of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region "Viatichi", Diaspora of representatives of Pamirs people "Pamirs", Association of citizens of Syrian origin, Association of Turkmen culture in St. Petersburg "Mekan", "Union of Afghan citizens", St. Petersburg Kazakh national and cultural autonomy Bajkonur, Kasakh society of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region "Ata-meken", community of Dagesten young people, St. Petersburg national and cultural Greek society "Petropolis", St. Peterburg "Union of Arab students", St.Petersburg national and cultural Korean association, Tatar national and cultural association of St. Petersburg, Azerbaijan national and cultural association of St. Petersburg, Armenian expatriates' community - all together 250 participants.
As a result of final games winners shared first places in the following way: First place - Tatar national and cultural association "Sabantuy" of St. Petersburg; 2nd place - Armenian expatriates' community of St. Petersburg; 3rd place: Azerbaijan national and cultural association of St. Petersburg "Azeri". In an individual championship a title of best tournament goalkeeper was given to Igor Dajneko (Azerbaijan national and cultural association of St. Petersburg). A title of best tournament player went to Ideel Yakupov ( Tatar national and cultural association). Event took place in the Sport Palace Zenit: St. Petersburg, Butlerova Street, 9, metro station Akademicheskaya, from 10 am to 5 pm.
Also there was a gala concert with performances of different artistic groups and individual artists from various national and cultural St. Petersburg associations. They presented different folk songs, folk dancing, played their national musical instruments, demonstrated national costumes and other elements of traditional ritual culture and folklore.
200 people took part in the event as active participants and about 2 000 people as spectators. This event took place in the entertainment park Divo-Ostrov (Red stage) at the address: St. Petersburg, metro station Krestovsky Ostrov, entry from Kemskaya Street or Morskoy prospect, from 3 to 7 pm.
